Undoubtedly the top in the trade during his hey days, Peethambaram was known as the ‘official’ makeup man for superstars M G Ramachandran and N T Ramarao, who later became the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh respectively.
Known for his association with the legendary Sivaji Ganesan too, Peethambaram has worked in almost all Indian languages and with all popular directors and actors of his time.
“He was the one who gave the hugely popular Lord Krishna look to NTR. Actors queuing up to meet him was a regular scene at his house,” according to family sources. Peethambaram’s funeral will be held at the Besant Nagar crematorium this afternoon.
